Thanks I feel ya I have not used flats on my 92 Fury which is still stock to this day, love everything about it! It has traditionaly been wearing Blue Steels. I strung this Fury with EXL160's (it's just what I had in my box) This one may in fact wear flats soon I'll follow up.WOW - that is a GREAT deal! Furys are worth a lot more than that. I have tried many kinds of strings but mine is happiest strung with T.I Flats. It a P-Bass with some real oomph and a fantastic neck. Don't change the pickup - they are really great.
I appreciate that, thanks. I actually have thought about swapping the black guard from my 92 (an aged white Fury) to the the black one and visa versa. Right now the are YIN-YANG!just leave that beautiful bass as it is!It's just so beautiful, in its efficient simplicity... If you cannot just resist, maybe order a BWB pickguard...
My 89 Fury wears Fender 9050 flats, so does my 85 Foundation....i had rounds on the Foundation and it was nothing but clank....the 9050 lean towards the brighter of flats so its a pretty good compromise, i can get enough top end but i use a soft pick mainly or thumb so there's that. Thanks I feel ya I have not used flats on my 92 Fury which is still stock to this day, love everything about it! Real tempted to try TIs myself....i dont know what exact pickup is in the OPs Fury but my 89 came with a Schaller (it was gone when i bought the bass)....it now has a Duncan SPB1 vintage P and frankly it may be closer to a 60's P pickup than what is stock....but hey the stock pickups in Peavey basses in general are very good....and those necks! Dang, why these basses continue to fly under the radar is beyond me.WOW - that is a GREAT deal! Furys are worth a lot more than that. Oh, i have a 1st gen Fury as well w the single Super Ferrite pickup....it is very light at about 8 lbs (w a bigger P neck though)....have a 90's 5 string Foundation black on maple, its great as well.....Peavey did screw up the bridge mounting a bit, it was off which i repositioned....both have rounds btw. Thanks mikecd1, my third actually, love these basses!

Thanks man and I am a fan of Fender 9050's AND ghs precision flats as well. I have two p's wearing 9050's, a p with a trad p neck and a P with a J neck and another standard p wearing ghs.My 89 Fury wears Fender 9050 flats, so does my 85 Foundation....i had rounds on the Foundation and it was nothing but clank....the 9050 lean towards the brighter of flats so its a pretty good compromise, i can get enough top end but i use a soft pick mainly or thumb so there's that.
However i am very tempted to try something LaBella or TI flats....GHS flats i like a lot as well (thumpier then Fender flats) and reasonable priced....GHS Pressurewounds are another great 'in between' of rounds and flats imo.
I often use a foam mute so i can get the 9050s to thump a bit more if need be but the 9050s were broken in when i bought the bass...the new set on my Foundation are still needing played more....i would like to try a lower tension string. Thanks man and I am a fan of Fender 9050's AND ghs precision flats as well. I totally agree with you as to the brighter tone you can coax from the 9050's and a thumpier tone from ghs. I really have always like the Blue Steel rounds on my 92 Fury they'll stay (for now).![]()
Obviously, it's up to you, but I like the contrast with the existing pickguards!I appreciate that, thanks. I actually have thought about swapping the black guard from my 92 (an aged white Fury) to the the black one and visa versa. Right now the are YIN-YANG!

I appreciate your input, the thought was a "fleeting" one.Obviously, it's up to you, but I like the contrast with the existing pickguards!
Thanks I bet yours is a killer, yep they are incredible (still mostly under the radar) USA made basses. The white 92 is also the one i'm playing in my avatar it is my favorite of all of my players. These are such good basses. I got one thinking it would just be a beater, but it ended up being one of my best players. I liked it so much that I put some $$ into it to make it great. I love the white one as well.
Love my '87 Fury Deluxe with its chunky J neck and rosewood board. Very lightweight and upgraded to GZR giving a great, vintage tone. Thanks mikecd1, my third actually, love these basses!

I think it's a 1995 it was offered locally and the price to good to pass up. USA Peavey Fury. Lots of goodies with it, 4 cables, picks, new clip lock strap, a nice padded gig bag and a new Proline wall hanger, just wanted to share it, thanks for looking, take care.

Thanks bro, I get that! My white 92 is my #1 player bought new at a mom & pop music store almost 30 years ago, also own a BXP 5er.Nice purchase, brother. One of the few non-Fender P's I can get along with. You're in for a journey. They're way better than they seem at first glance.
