This thread might seem familiar, my fellow Clevelander recently posted his NBD of the same bass. It has since been passed on to me so now it is MY NBD.

Pickguard?

Adam graciously threw in a white jazz pickguard that he had the seemed like it would fit. It looked odd standard because of where the control plate would go (didn't line up with the controls). So I shaped the pickguard (Lakland inspired) and am considering putting it on there.

I'm also thinking that this bass would look sa-weet with a maple neck so I might be getting one of those GFS necks and trying it out on there.

So, thoughts on pickguard? Thoughts on bass?

I have a mid-nineties Hohner PJ, bought new. Was my first bass, and while not the highest quality, I keep coming back to it. Nice, flat neck. Pickups aren't that good, but since yours has DiMarzios this shouldn't concern you.

It is now permanently at our practice space, which is perfect for me - I don't have to bring a bass, I don't miss it at home, and I like playing it at practice.
