They have a few MM’s way up high near the ceiling..
The Rockville store always has the best stuff...even used.
They currently have an HH blueburst Stingray 4, one of the 1st Adam Clayton sig-Jazzes (whatever that emerald green color is called), and a pretty cool Carvin Icon 5 with Piezo bridge in the used section.
They have one of the brand-spankin’ new Elite Jazz V’s in that Surf Pearl with maple f/b and matching headstock.

I have the exact same bass and it came from GC in San Antonio. I got 20% off and still paid several hundred dollars more than you did. Nice score. The LB 100 is by far my favorite P Bass. I have owned 5 over the years, 4 were great and 1 of the 2 I own now is exceptional. Hope you enjoy yours.

The new Guitar Center in the Ellsworth Place Mall in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland, is fairly small in terms of square footage compared to the Rockville location, the latter of which is nearer to my home.

When I was there at the Silver Spring store the two things that struck me were:
  1. the relatively modest selection; and
  2. the proximity to competitor Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center.
That experience left me scratching my head. I hear that while most GC stores are profitable, the company as a whole is 1.5 billion in debt to Bain Capital. The staff at the Silver Spring GC were, notably, very friendly and helpful.

For the record, of the main music stores in my area with which I have personal experience: GC Rockville, GC Silver Spring, Victor Litz Music, Chuck Levins, and Make 'N Music, I would say that Make 'N Music is the most pleasant to shop at so far.

Oh, man, I forgot about Chuck Levins, I haven't been there since I picked up bass, used to buy a ton of cymbals there. I need to check them out again and Make N' Music. The last time I lived in this area, the Best Buy in Rockville had an interestingly robust music section, I believe they gave up on that idea though.
