Do you hoard bass shipping boxes?

So my Fodera came in today. It is literally the nicest bass I think I’ve ever played. Every aspect of it is perfect. Those guys really know how to build a bass.

While unboxing it in my garage, I realized that I have way too many bass shipping boxes. But I can’t throw them away. They’re like gold. Nothing worse than having a bass sell & you can’t readily find a box.

Confession: my name is Jeff and I’m a hoarder.

So I condensed the boxes, putting the smaller ones in the bigger ones, and put them on this super high shelf that was designed for loading gear on/off of a boat.

Does anyone else hoard bass boxes? Or is this just my sickness?

Some people really like the original box when buying a used instrument. I don’t get it. But I keep some boxes just in case. Although I always buy a piece of gear with the intent to keep forever, so I don’t honestly know why I keep the boxes. Maybe I’m a hoarder too...

I don't think hoarding boxes is a problem but ask yourself-
Has your hoarding effected your job performance, or personal life?
Do you want to spend more time with you boxes than with your family?
Do you feel your box hoarding is overwhelming your social life?
Has thinking about you box collection adversely effected your performance in the bedroom?

Funny post and quite ironic as I do have a collection of boxes (5-6 right now) although I currently have no intention to sell any of my basses. But I’ll be ready for the big purge if I ever decide to do so.

Worst thing is deciding to sell (or having sold) a bass and you find you don’t have any shipping boxes which results in dumpster diving at the big box music stores. I usually have 30% chance of finding a correct box the first time. That’s why I hoard boxes...

I've definitely done the dumpster diving thing. Probably the main reason I never throw away guitar or speaker boxes.

Something tells me this isn't your first intervention... lol

I have only now realized I have too many boxes.

Luckily, that is in no way a reflection on how I feel about how many basses I have. Whew!

Lovely bass! I like that it isn't really flashy per se but (as mentioned above) elegant. I've always wanted a Fodera just so I can have one of their cases! I think they are awesome.

I also have a lot of cases but they are necessary and that's that.
