NBD - Pretty, and surprisingly good Ibanez.

I had no real need for anything other than my old Jazz, but this just looked so nice on Facebook Marketplace I couldn’t resist going for a look. I played it and I bought it.
It is totally unmarked.
I put some TI Jazz flats on it to replace the rounds, tweaked the truss rod to put a tiny bit of relief into the neck and lowered the action to within a gnats whisker of the frets. Correctly set the intonation, and Got no fret buzz or rattles.
It plays beautifully and sounds amazing for what is really a not very expensive bass. And the build quality really puts my old Fender to shame.
I shall use this quite a bit I think.

Cool, nice bass. I didn't realize there were any neck-through Soundgears, thought they were all bolt-on.

I've been playing a Fender Jazz for 30+ years, but picked up a fretless Ibanez SR370 a few years ago and they're just super nice instruments. Not expensive, lightweight and well balanced, easy playing bolt-on neck, solid construction, variable and useful tone, what's not to like? (unfortunately I didn't cotton to fretless like I hoped, so it's getting listed ASAP so I can buy a P)

The SR900 is a really well made, great playing bass with sub par pickups and preamp. Toss some real Bartolinis in their MK size and a different preamp and you've got a winner!

I saw comments like this about the bass before I bought it and took the view that if it was that bad it was fixable.
After new good quality flats, most reviews were using rounds, and a good setup it plays and sounds very nice to me. I’ve just used it on a recording project and the result is totally acceptable without any pre or post production buggering about.
Playing live, whenever that happens, amp settings and a Sansamp will knock it into shape if needed.

I love all my Ibanez basses. Currently sporting three different models. All stunning players. The 500 and 700 series with Bartolini’s are off the hook. My Pbass is phenomenal, but these really are exceptional for the price point. Nice post.

If it plays as well as it looks, you've got a winner!!!
