These are just some quick observations, and I'll follow up with more pics and a video in a couple of days.
I just put this thing down, after receiving it 5 hours ago. Can't remember the last time I played for that long when I wasn't getting paid to! First of all, the construction, build quality, and components are top-notch, but anyone who's played a Rev knows that (this is my 4th). Second, this might be the ultimate gigging bass. I play in a few different bands, and also host a weekly pro jam, and this thing could easily cover anything I need to play. The bridge pup does an awesome burpy Stingray-jaco-esque type sound, perfect for funkier stuff. The middle pup is P-bass city. The neck is great for fat, old school tones for oldies and the like. And the two "in-between" positions are smooth, fat and scooped, and work well for country, ballads, and reggae (with the tone rolled off). The tone knob is really well voiced, and allows just enough mids to poke through the mix. The amazing part is how well-balanced the pups are. They're pretty much the same volume in any position, which is pretty rare! Yeah, I just got this today, but I'm pretty sure these observations will hold up over time. More to come!
