New bass day! This is my second Will Lee 5 - I bought one 4 years ago but did not like it much and sold it - but this one feels so nice. Perfect neck profile, fast, and the B string is the best jazz B string I have ever played. Preamp is def a keeper with the midrange tweaks

22 Frets - Perfect nut width
Alder body - Morado FB
Light
Finish Looks amazing

Definitely a keeper!! This would be my 13th Sadowsky (and I currently own 3 of them)

Amazing.

Thinking of getting my first Sadowsky, but can't decide between JJ or Modern 5. Also have Lakland 55-14 in the mix too.
I have both and they sound so different, so it comes down to what style you play! both can play any style but of course a JJ would give you that vintage tone where the modern has the scooped mids so it plays better for gospel, modern, latin etc....

I play covers every weekend now ranging from Tyler Childers, to Ozzy, to Noah Kahan, to GnR, to Post Malone....you get the idea.

The Sadowsky without any doubt.
I loved my 55-94 but it couldn't keep up with my sadowsky in terms of présence to cut through the mix.
And I swear I wanted to keep it
Which sadowsky? I love how the lakland feels in my hands. I can play stuff on in that i just can't do on the other basses. One of the few pieces of gear that made me actually play better.

Exactly the model you have except mine is not a will Lee.
Now you must choose what makes you feel and play better. If it's the Lakland then go for it.

Ah I don't actually have the Sadowsky yet, just the lakland. My worry about the JJ is in the past I've always felt my JJ basses were thin, but I've heard Sadowsky doesn't sound thin. That's why I'd consider the Modern. I'll be keeping the lakland no matter what, just want a USA Lakland one day.

I'm thinking to just buy a sadowsky and then take some other basses to GC and trade in on a lakland then I'm set for life lol.

beautiful bass, does that have the vst preamp that you can buy separately nowadays? I was thinking of putting one in my Jazz Elite with the 4 knobs. One day Ill get a Sadowsky... but that dream seems to be fading nowadays. lol
All metroline, NYCs and Japan models (discountinued) come with the VTC - dont buy a metroexpress (no vtc, inferior electronics), they are ok, good value for the money but I would rather buy a used japan metro or german metroline

Once you play a sadowsky and feel the neck, the FB edge radius, the weight, the preamp you will never bo back to anything else!
So I've heard. I do wish it had the 35 inch scale. Heck I'd go 36 if I could. I do worry a bit about no mid knob too. I guess I'll still have my lakland. Just a lot of money not to be sure. I really only have a desire for 2 more basses. A Sadowsky and a USA-made lakland.

I have had 3 roscoes all 35" scale, I will tell you the Sadowsky has the best B string in the business, you will not miss it. Also, the WIll LEe has a midrange circuitry that allows you to select some mid freq presets, it makes a difference! I also use an Aguilar sweapable mid range pedal with my modern bass
