NBD: Schecter Diamond Jazz 5

Well, basswave made me an offer I couldn't refuse, so I pulled the trigger on this:

If you've never played with one, I highly suggest it. The first thing I noticed was the build quality. It's got great fretwork, a tight neck pocket, and balances well.

This one has been mod'd just a bit... Hipshot bridge, passive tone. Don't know if the active EMG pickups were standard when new, but it has those. And a BTS preamp. And while I think it's decent as it is, I have an Aguilar pre ready and waiting to be installed.
For s's and g's, I flipped the pickups, so it has the P5 in the bridge and the J in the neck position. More of a Lakland-ish vibe that way. Gave more beef to the solo'd bridge, too.

The neck kind of reminds me of an early Stingray 5... it's slim and super fast, gloss coated, and is just darn easy to play.

Unfortunately, band practice got canceled tonight, so I didn't get a chance to see how it fits, but it has a great tone on its own.

Congrats! That looks hawt! Making me gas for another jazz 5er.

Also looks like it has nice string spacing too.

It's tight by comparison to the Am Dlx J, but feels a lot like my first 5er, a Warwick Fortress MM5. So it's comfy.

I've almost bought one of these a couple of times now. The specifications look very solid. Schecter builds a good guitar, and they're very reasonably priced on the used market. Good score.

Congrats I think you be very happy with it. Back in my working at a music store days, I remember Schecter began by just building custom replacement bodies and necks for Fender guitars and basses and the quality is still top notch ...I've had two Schecters, a Model T w' EMG P/U's and a California Custom cherryburst Jazz w/ EMG P/U's for about 6 years now.....I love'em both and very rarely play my original 65 Precision anymore except in the studio.
