NBD was technically Friday last week, but I totally forgot to post back then. Was too busy enjoying the bass.
Without further ado, I present to you my Spector NS-2000/5 DB:
She's modified with a Darkglass Tone Capsule wired in 18V, and a Hipshot Extender will shortly be added ('twas on backorder). Fresh DR Fatbeams. Action slightly higher than what I'm used to, but that's an easy enough fix. Might try Sunbeams or Pure Blues on it, as I generally tend to prefer nickel strings.
She has this throaty, roaring kind of midrange vibe to her, like a lioness roaring.
Fit, fretwork, finish and build quality is absolutely spot on. Neck is somewhere in between full and thin, and feels just right to my spider fingers (I'm 6'5"). I was initially worried the 17 mm spacing would be too tight, but I found it not to be an issue at all, and it definitely helps with quicker runs.
All in all, couldn't be any happier with it. This one is a keeper for sure.
...and yes, I'm a BTBAM fan, if it's not obvious. Dan Briggs has the best bass tone in the genre (honestly in any genre). He is a unique in the sense that he uses a clean (albeit with luscious, fat and colorful midrange) tone in a sea of bassists in the same genre (progressive rock/metal) using heavily distorted bass.
