NBD - Spector Q4 Holoflash - RESCUED!

Hit a pawnshop that I had never been to Saturday while I was out riding. The had a 4 string Spector bass with the Holoflash finish. Price looked good but I have not done any real research on Spectors since I rarely see them in pawn shops. So I got home from my ride and looked it up. Turns out it was a Q4, made in Korea. 5 bolt neck, EMG pickups, holoflash finish. I went back over today to take a closer look. It has a few minor battle scars and a little buckle rash, but over all it is really good shape needing new strings and a cleanup.

A tiny bit of haggling and $110 later I owned my first Spector. On a semi related note, Gene Simmons is who inspired me to pick up the bass many years ago. He was also the first bassist I ever saw playing a Spector bass.

Now I just have to get it ready for my gig Saturday night.

well, with a little more info form the Spector megathread, it has been determined that this bass is (unfortunately for me) NOT a Legend Classic 4. Now I'm not sure which model it is. It does have the 3 piece neck w/24 frets. But is has HZ pickups instead of SSD's and looks like it has the EMG preamp and not the Tone Pump Jr. It was made in Korea.

Good news is, it plays, sounds, and looks great. And was easily worth the $110.

high first of congrats with your new bass got the same exact only I payed the price the shop asked 125 euro perfect near mint condition very low action extreme playabilty.If the electronics are due for replacement there are solderless sets available to replace the 4 potmeters in a jiffy.Mine is still working flawless but to be sure of being able to repair I checked out and discovered that many shops sell those sets and also possible to order directly from EMG Have a blast know for sure the audience will pick up your new sound.friendly regards Maarte
