I just joined talkbass and wanted to post my new bass.

Actually picked it up on Friday night and gigged with it yesterday. Got it for a good price and it plays good, sounds good and looks good. My only complaint is one tuning seems to vibrate sometimes.

Did you try tightening the tuner? It is easy enough to get affordable replacement tuners if you can't solve the rattle/vibration issue.

Niiiiice. Looks like the protective cover is still on the pickguard.

As for replacement tuners, may I suggest, if on a budget, Wilkinsons open-back tuners? If you're willing to pay roughly double the price of the Wilkinsons, you can get either Gotoh or Hipshots, all three have the most classic looking elongated tuning stems.

Thanks for the welcome and responses. I haven't tried tightening the peg yet. I didn't pick it up til late Friday and had an early gig on sat. Barely had time to get the flatwounds off, new rounds on and brush up on some songs As far as the pickguard, I'm not sure what the deal is there. Apparently the previous owner scuffed the entire finish with something? I tried to polish it up quick but it didn't work that well. Doesn't really make sense to me because the rest of the bass is close to mint. JACink my wife said this is the last bass, at least for a while anyway

Here's a good replacement for that pickguard. I've bought from them before, very quick, cheap shipping, and it's as beautiful as it looks (and real swirl)

Congrats on the NBD. These are great basses for the dinero. Plus one of my favorite color combo is fiesta red, tort and rosewood. Great looking bass there!

Great bass. I've got two Rickenbackers and recently picked up a Japanese P-bass but I think my CV P-bass that's just like yours is my favorite one to play. It just sounds and feels so good.

I bet it's just the plastic. Peel it off.
