NBD: Squier CV 50's Butterscotch ARRIVED!

I just received my Squier CV 50's P bass from UPS here at work. All I can say is WOW. The finish and the grain look just like the CS 51 Fender on the Bay now. It is the same color and grain and everything! Fender Custom Shop 51 Precision Bass | eBay
When I get home I will upload pics but the only difference between this one and the Sting I used to own is this one is prettier. INCREDIBLE. What a creamy finish.
WOW

That's great to hear that it looks so nice! Mine should be here Wednesday, I hope it will be as good. Looking forward to your impressions once you've been able to plug it in.

I'm really curious to see these new CVs. They'll be the first to have a finish that shows the body wood. I've been wondering how Squier was going to make that work. Do they stay with basswood bodies or do they go with something grainier? They're using pine for the blonde CV teles. It looks surprisingly like ash and people seem happy with the tone. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what they use for the butterscotch basses.

Here's the '51 Custom Shop on eBay:

Is the CV's grain on par with this?
