ok...I'll explain....:bag:

The Squier Precision:- a really lovely little bass.....tone is sweet. But for me:- It weighed close to 9lbs. I got the usual neck-cramp pain from playing it for quite awhile. Fat soft strap didn't help.
It also had a wider-at-12th fret neck on It probably due to the 2 3/8ths string spacing.Too much for my little finger...started to get a hematoma/blister right at the inside knuckle joint.
You never notice these things in the store at the time.....only when you get it home and play for ages.

so....swap for..

Epi Toby:- coupled to the GK amp it had a tone I'd been seeking for a long time.....beautiful. Very comfortable bass. Wasn't heavy, no neck dive.
More frets on it than the Squier. Easy neck to play it seemed.....but...it too was wider than I like at the 12th fret (it also has 2 3/8ths string spacing)...and again the issue with my little finger.
Tried adjusting my playing style......but to no avail......
I really liked this bass........but ended up swapping for:-

Ibanez GSR250:- This bass weighs 7lbs 11oz ( a bit heavier than the Epi)....but doesn't feel like it and for some reason it doesn't bother my neck at all. Nut is 1.5 inches and 2 1/4 inch string spacing. No little finger issues on this one. Has a nice onboard EQ system...and between the bass EQ, the amplifier EQ and a SansAmp BDDI I can get tones that are Motownlicious...

I gravitate toward shortscales generally...but I find having longscales around improves my playing on the shorts. If I just play shortscale all the time my fingers get lazy.

So no further plans to flip.......I'll stay with the Ibby..... (believe me I will.....really...for sure......absolutely........)
