NBD...Squier Precision...

Traded in my black Mikro for the Squier Longscale Precision bass(Indonesian...not Chinese...there is a difference, you know)

While I was at it.....traded in the Ampeg BA115 for the GK Combo (12 inch speaker/200 watts).

The GK , although a 12 inch speaker, sounds (to me) way better than the Ampeg (15 inch speaker)....much nicer bottom end.

Almost bought a Squier Jazz longscale........really nice tone but it was pushing north of 9lbs....too heavy.

The Precision is quite a bit lighter....has no neck dive.

1 5/8 inch nut width on the P.....me likey.

GK is smaller and lighter than the Ampeg.

I don't know of any Squiers were ever made in China.
Almost all the Classic Vibe Squiers are MIC. Also, todays "unexpected NBD" thread is a 1998 MIC Squier. The early Chinese Squiers, IMHO, were works of art. Every single one I've bought and sold had alder bodies. The necks had no skunk stripe and were very stout. Very good quality. As for the new Squier Affinity Basses from China, I have zero experience with them, so far.

Back to the pic of the VM P Bass special - - TORT !!! TORT !!! TORT !!! TORT !!! imho..........

My mistake.

My love affair with the Precision was a one night stand.......:crying:....we just weren't on the same page....

Took it back today and swapped it for this...kept the amp though...

WAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTT ?????????????????????? OK, I'm over it........
Tobias Gibson, 1800 - 1872 .... just a bit of history...... or am I in the wrong thread?
Looks nice. I had a Toby 5, '89 Korean model and although it was real heavy, it just felt right. Have lots o' fun with yours....... well, at least for a day, anyway.....

I know ...I know.....:(

It was just the way Squiericia came onto me in the store. I mean..that blue dress she was wearing for starters.......exploited my vulnerability until I bought her and then we went for drinks after that....then we got a cab to my place...

What a night it was but I felt awful in the morning, what with her lying beside me on the couch all out of tune and me hung over as hell.....

I should have realized that my sweet love Epi was really the girl for me........she did her utmost to get my attention when I was playing (*cough*....no pun intended) basses in the shop.

Squiericia was a nice fling.........and I'll never forget her..........
