NBD: Squier VM Jaguar Bass Special

Just picked it up yesterday, my initial reaction is that for the price, it's a pretty nice bass!
The action seems a little high, but maybe that is just me being a guitarist and it's something I have to get used to.
I don't have an amp yet, so I can't really tell you how it sounds, lol...

But it looks pretty!

Yeah I realize I can change it, but I'm not sure where to begin to be honest.

I plan on taking it back to the store next week to get their tech guy to give it their free setup it didn't get because he is on vacation this week.

Free setup? Definitely take advantage of that.

Well to update this thread, as much as I still think it's a good bass for the money, I ended up getting a VM P-Bass in Amber and the fit & finish and play-ability on that one blows the Jaguar out of the water! Really.... I went shopping for an amp and tried the Amber P-Bass and was so impressed with it, I left the store with the amp & Bass!!!

I'll probably keep the Jaguar anyways, cause I can't return it and selling it really isn't worth it. Plan to put some different strings on it, and teach myself how to setup a bass with it.

Once you get those phoney Fender 7250 NPS strings SUPPOSEDLY made by D'A off it, and put some Elixir Nanos on it, you'll love it all the more.

Really - those OE strings suck big ones. Too noisy, zingy and quite abrasive to the fingers for the first month.

Now - I have them on one of my basses at the moment and they work well on it - but that's the one exception as far as I can see. Otherwise, I dislike them immensely.

Love those jaguars! I have the same bass and it sounds great for any price! The fact that it weighs 8 lbs and looks bada$$ helps too! Enjoy
