NBD-Stingray 5 Anniversary Edition

My local GC put this out today. I was the first to touch it....and I bought it.

Absolutely. The high end is a bit subdued, but can be dialed in with the (very usable) preamp.

I like the cream color, though I've never been a fan of the oversized pickguard and the bevels on the Stingray 5. The binding looks nice though, hope you enjoy it!

Hmm..don't know why they couldn't come up with a cream pickup cover to go with the body, but otherwise it's very nice.

I think it's their standard gun oil.

Congratulations! I ordered mine from Guitar Center the day it was announced at NAMM. It came in 2 weeks ago but because the Guitar Center I deal with is 3 hours away, I wasn't able to pick it up until yesterday. I just did a video comparing it to a standard Stingray 5 H and they definitely sound different. The 30th Anniversary model is much louder too. Probably by at least 5 decimals. Here is mine.

I like the "earless" mm pickups more... not just visually but to my ears also. Even as a thumb rest I like it more.

I'm a "floater". I never much pay attention to the side of the pickup. These have the tonal qualities of the Classic more than the Stingray to my ears.

I will fully admit that the looks alone drew me to this bass. I normally don't like a 5H. But whatever they've done to the pre makes this thing a keeper.
