NBD: Tribute bass for my Dad, ongoing project

Every father's goal is to have a kid that'll love them this much. Sorry for your loss, I lost my dad 18 months ago. I sense him everywhere. This bass will be a way for your dad to be around you in spirit.
Pickguard and string tree ordered, that's the parts. Now on to designing the headstock decal and decals for the body.

Very cool way to pay tribute to your father. Looking forward to seeing how your bass project turns out.
Condolences, can't wait to see it. Not that you'll need it, but it will put him in mind every time you see it.
Sorry for your loss. I am sure he's up there and very proud of his son. Great tribute for sure. Post some pics of progress. Again condolences.

I lost my father just over 2 years ago & I'm still not in a happy place yet , but like you I needed to have a bass that had a meaning for both of us. For my 21st birthday (1988) he bought me a secondhand Peavey T-40 unfortunately this was stolen years later, but I knew what brand/model I was looking for but at that time no decent T-40's were around so looked at other models.
Settled on a 1986 Peavey Foundation it had the same style headstock & pinstripe like the T-40 plus he also had used Peavey products, in his bands so that for me was a nice memory from growing up with him. So having a Peavey bass around for me was a connection to my Dad & happier times.

Very sorry man. That's gotta be a tough one but I can see doing something like this as being both tribute and therapy. I'll interested in seeing how this comes along. ...both as someone that has modded a ridiculous number of instruments over the years and as a son and father myself. 
So sanding the headstock will not be fun. There is gloss over the decal
Edit: I think I'll just put a set of decals over the Squier part, possibly. So much gloss on this thing. Rather not fool with the neck since it plays and feels great as is
