NBD: Turquoise and Tort

The rules of tort:
- Cheap tort is the worst (especially the cheap printed stuff), it's vomit inducing stuff.
- Modern nitro tort is meh at best, mostly ugly, salami looking and flat. It all mostly comes from Delmar Plastics so it's all the same garbage.
- 60s tort is God tier level and looks fantastic. Some of the 70s tort looks pretty great too.
- Spitfire is God tier level modern tort and can look as great as the 60s tort.

After playing this for more than a few hours, I don't think I'll be changing the pickup. It sounds good as is. The bridge will be changed out for a Hipshot Kickass, and I think I'll be changing the pickguard to black.

Tough call. I’m not the biggest tort fan but l love the tort with that blue. However you should do the one that makes you happy. You can always swap them if you change your mind. Either way you have a stellar bass.

Tough call. I’m not the biggest tort fan but l love the tort with that blue. However you should do the one that makes you happy. You can always swap them if you change your mind. Either way you have a stellar bass.

True, and I'm really loving it. It really fills a hole, to complement my very different Warwick SSII.

I bought one when G.C. recently had their sale. I had a friend play it live and agreed it needed a pickup change. I put in a Bartolini and it had much better definition. IDK about a bridge change yet, as anything high mass would probably require a neck shim to compensate for the raised bridge plate, lmk how it goes.

I would never do tort with a 'cool' color like blue, but it's YOUR bass my man... enjoy the hell out of it!
