... I normally think white pearloid pick guards are, well, a little glitzy and showy -- they're to basses what a glass-top Queen Anne cocktail table is to a formal living room (boy, did I pull that one outta my hindside ... )
But like the builder himself alluded to with black 'guard: this lovely creation has white abalone block inlays, and it CRIES for a pick guard to match 'em. Just CRIES.

Nope, it is no joke. It reminds me of the whitewash that they paint on windows of buildings that are being refurbished. Each to their own I guess.
Indeed! Personally, trans white is one of the sexiest finishes on a jazz.
BTW, I vote Tort as well
I'm not normally a fan of tort, but it's beautiful on this bass. So is black.
