NBD: Warmoth Dinky Jaco (+ pickup questions)

Ok, I’ve been hunting for the right jazz body to use with this Allparts fretless ebony neck to create a personalized Jaco style bass. I was mainly looking at Fender bodies but then this roasted alder Warmoth Dinky J with EMG pickups came along.

The original plan was to swap in an Audere preamp and some Dimarzio pickups I had set aside for this, but after trying the EMG JA pickups, I’m reconsidering that idea because it already sounds fantastic. Am I crazy? I would just try the Audere and Dimarzios except that it requires snipping off the EMG connectors end to remove the pickups. Thoughts?

Keep it as is. EMG’s with passive electronics sound fine to my ears.

You don't have to cut the EMG connectors. You can make adapters using breadboard jumper wires like this.

Those EMG connectors are just standard .10"/2.54mm pitch computer mainboard connectors, so if you wanted to make 3/4/5 wire connectors just like EMGs get a kit like this.
