NBD: Warwick content. holy crap!

I done't ever put these threads up cause...well i dont. Probably because I would have had to put so many up lately:rollno:. Plus most of what I have gotten lately has been "cool, its nice. I'll play it for a while and see how I feel." Not "WOW I love this thing!"
The last few months I have given new meaning to the term gear whore. It all started with selling my 98' Cirrus 4. I've only regretted selling one other bass this much in my life. So I have spent the last few months buying, selling, trading for whatever might get me closer or back to another pre 2000 cirrus 4.
A fellow TB'r hit me up a couple days ago and offered me his bass for my 02' Stingray 4H I had for sale here on TB. Since I always wanted to try one i said meh....why not. Worst case I'll put it up FS/FT again:scowl: .
So after asking a million spec questions we met in person last night and closed the deal. I drove straight to rehearsal (180mile round trip) and plugged this bad boy in.
Plugged what in? :D

I had to go and find the exact bass and steal the pic. I just realized i deleted my inbox and all the pics i was sent of this bass. But its identical in every way even year.

99' Streamer LX. Maple body ovenkol neck and wenge fretboard. STILL has the super slim jazz bass style neck profile before they switched to the baseball bat profile in 2000. This is my first warwick. Never played on except those awful(imho awful) nirvana black HH corvettes they stock at guitar center.
Now I know why I wanted a warwick all along. Holy CRAP!!!
My Cirrus GAS is gone:eek::eek:. I still want one badly and still think they are in the top 2% of the best basses ever made. But this thing has definatley filled a void. I have never had a bass that has filled a room with such clear punchy low end. With the smaller body size, spector shaped body, KILLER neck (the ovenkol is smooth as a baby's arse) this thing feels like an extension of my arms. Completely effortless to play. I cant even say that about my late beloved Cirrus...why....??....because the Streamer is 34" and the Cirrus was 35" just enough to make me have to pay attention more than usual. Whereas the Wick....I played every song last night looking at the ceiling or with eyes closed.
The thing that floored me the most was the sustain this thing has. Unreal. Has to be the 2pc bridge no?
I never knew how much i missed a maple body bass. When i'm looking for mahogany, or ash basses I never seem to remember that some of my favorite sounding basses i have owned have been all maple....like the two Ric's and my Pedulla MVP buzz 4.
SO.....next on the list....another 99' or older Streamer or an older p/j Fortress.
Also thanks to TechJunky for a smooth transaction. Super nice guy too.

seungkoo is correct. That picture is the same bass from the guy I traded. Glad to hear you're as happy with the trade as I am! It's a great bass, and I'll grab another Warwick before long I'm sure (I'm still GASsing for a Streamer Stage II whenever I have the funds!). Enjoy!

I believe that picture is from the previous owner before techjunky =)

These are awesome basses which gave me even more gas for a stage I now

Yeah, i dunno. I got 3/4 into typing this thread then went to get the pics he sent me from my inbox and **** me!!! I deleted all my sent and inbox last night before bed. No pix. So I hit google and found the same 99' streamer lx.

The thing that really is nice though......i'm done for a little while. I dunno what to do with myself not having to check TB classifieds every freakin 15 min from when I get up til' i go to sleep. No more trading anything. When I get some more cash to buy another bass I want then I'll be looking. But no more freaking out. I have everything covered sound and looks wise.
I have a killer P bass(that i just put my jazz neck on). Now the streamer. Plus my old jazz bass that is a natural relic that I am looking for a Moses neck for.
Now I just gotta come up with a little scratch for the Ric, Modulus Q4, Alembic Spoiler and pre 99 Fortress I want :scowl::rollno:.........:crying:

its an unending quest

Yes...but now at least I'm happy with the small stable i have. I am fully covered. Now I can just buy when funds permit. Havnt had that situation in years.
At least I'm happy with my rig!!!!

Side note about my rig....I wasnt digging my Mesa cab anymore (PH1000) because I wasnt liking the 15" anymore. But with the new bass its just crushing.
After the 2nd song last night my drummer looks at me and says dude.....what the ****.....your blowing me off my seat here man....all the hairs on my head are moving. I didnt turn up or to anything except turn the treble on my preamp down from the usual noon setting to about 10 oclock. Turned my drive knob down a touch too.
The frequencies this thing puts out are just forcefull!!!:D

Congratulations on the pick up! That's my old LX and the pic is actually from inside my last house (although you cropped out my old Stage 2!!). Anyway, enjoy the bass! It's a good one =)

Nice. Yeah I had to find a pic to use after i deleted the ones I had. low and behold its the one I have!!
I have used it in both bands rehearsals as of tonight. Its got so much girth and great tone its ridiculous. I LOVE the 2 pc bridge. Makes me want an alembic tha much more lol.
