P pickups like these can literally be bought in bulk on AliExpress for next to nothing. There was a “clever” TB’er flipping them for 100% markup here not too long ago. I think the last few wound up getting a steep markdown, hence making it a break even venture.

Started my modding today. Put a Classic Vibe'70s pickup in that I had laying around, painted the headstock, sanded the neck and finished with tru-oil and put some EB Super Slinkys on. The paint cost me $4 so I'm up to $60 now.

Don’t bother modding it. I put a Duncan Quarter Pound in mine and it still has that thin, hollow, overly bright crappy sound it did with the stock pickup. I’m guessing because it’s so light. There is no way these things are basswood, just as the boards are not rosewood like they advertise. I’m sure it’s cheap plywood and the thing is damn near hollow inside. I’m not too mad because it was only $70, but I wasted $55 having the Duncan installed and will have to pay again to remove it. Don’t be like me haha

Clearly these glarrys are not meant for playing with a band, let alone gigs. These are beginner/student instruments.

Great job!

Worked on neck pocket and neck today. Sanded the neck and headstock.! Did a setup! Later on I will paint headstock and maybe amber on neck.
