Try using a tissue with some rubbing alcohol first. Many types of marker ink - especially Sharpie - can be removed with alcohol so easily it's almost like magic.

I've had this thought for years - that Yamaha, having been around as long as they have, and with a big part of their business being audio electronics, they must have a huge pool of skilled people, and a big database, which is part of what makes their basses so good (their electronics/pickups.)

Agreed, I can easily see the motivation behind having this custom instrument done with a maple board.

What I can't see is why anyone in their right mind would ever want to let it go from their possession. I guess people have their reasons. I can safely say this beautiful, one-of-a-kind instrument has reached it's final destination. :thumbsup::bassist:

It's my understanding that they have a massive R&D department at their headquarters that works with the world's top artists, especially their Custom Shop.

Believe me, it's been almost a week since I ordered it and my mind is still blown by the ridiculous low asking price in the first place and the rarity of it, on top of it all.

All I can say is maybe they thought it wouldn't clean up so nice or something.

As far as a general overall idea of tone, I think I'll let the very capable Ed Friedland take it from here - although I must say that with the stainless steel strings on it at the moment - the piano(ness) of it is off the charts. More so than what's in the video. Yes, I have some gigs coming up & this will definitely be coming with me to those! :bassist:
