NBD!! Yamaha BB735a.....denied.

Purchased a new Yamaha BB735a online and it was “delivered” yesterday according to the tracking…..got home from work keen for my new bass. My wife had been home all day and swears nothing was delivered. Checked front and back, no bass, no “sorry we missed you” slips. Nothing.

Not sure where my bass is, the store is trying to chase down the courier who only have a call-centre in Singapore.

Sometime I hate not living in a bigger city where I can walk in to a shop and choose from more than the 3 basses that have been hanging there since 2015.

Same thing happened to my new muzzleloader yesterday! Tracking said it was delivered but to a location over an hour away from me. I contacted the store who has very good custom service and I paid with a credit card so I'm not concerned but what a bummer. Hopefully you'll get your bass soon!

They just leave it there? That sounds pretty crazy to me... I work all day in a logistics department and I'm always in contact with courier companies and they are a pain in the ass...

I'm sorry that you didn't get your bass. What are you going to do now?

I imagine the music store is going to stick it to that carrier. I hope you get your new bass soon!:)

You know, in a very rural area of Fla I spend winter in I, have had far more than a single incident on confirmed deliveries. As it turns out living almost a mile up a dirt road that if the driver ( this has been a FedEx issue) has no deliveries in that area he will show it as no one to sign (B'S...always someone to sign )delivered or attempted delivery. The product will be delivered the following day or next at worst. I talked to Amazon and reading between the lines , they have had complaints. As it stands FedEx no longer will deliver for Prime, in my case that's good. Drivers in my area are contract drivers. I have heard this is not a problem with all regions. Hope you bass shows up, the retailer is really being cool.

... I talked to Amazon and reading between the lines , they have had complaints. ...

A couple months back I had Amazon ship a rather expensive electronics item to my sister (birthday present). She lives in a VERY LARGE well-known and well-established townhouse development next to a shopping mall in Vancouver. The entrance is well marked with huge signs, and her unit is about 500 feet straight down the main driveway.

The item was delivered to the McDonald's located in the mall parking lot next to her!
It was clearly labelled with her address (not theirs!). No one at that restaurant has the same name as her. :rollno:

One of the McDonald's employees kindly walked it over and delivered it to her door...

Confirmed courier delivered it Tuesday when no one was home. Left it on the front porch in plain sight of everyone.

TOLL courier let the side down
I normally have the opposite problem with couriers, that even small packages that could be left out of sight of the street (my house has a small courtyard) will not be left even when I want that.

When ordering from Australian retailers I try to make sure they use Australia Post so that my item can be delivered to and held at the post office where I have a PO box: keeps it safe and let's me pick it up on my own schedule, instead of trying to be home to meet a courier.

Anyway, Better Music is very good, I'd be surprised if they don't sort it out for you.

Have to blame the shipper a bit Yea they're probably covered insurance wise but, they could have requested a signature for delivery
You typically have to ask the seller to specify "signature for delivery" or it goes "no signature required". It costs the shipper a slight bit more for the signature, so they often don't specify that. Hope you get your bass or a replacement soon.

That's been my experience as well. Startrack/Australia Post are absolute nightmare when it comes to signatures. They don’t even let my wife sign for goods that have been ordered in my name. I thought if it was that difficult to get a $20 box of cables or a $100 light, a $900 package would be pretty safe.
