You're going to "do them a favor" by taking it off their hands for peanuts when you know you can sell it later that day on Craigslist for 10 times what you got it for?

If capitalism (i.e.: someone profiting off of someone else) in general makes you uncomfortable I could understand, but the OP is not the one I'd bring that gripe to. Not by a longshot.

I have a 97 MIJ that also has that same "squier series" small logo at the top of the headstock. And it's hands down the best bass I've ever had. There's strict instructions to bury me with it unless one of my descendants learns how to play

I personally have zero problem with buying something for what the seller asks. I *might* choose to say something if I think the item is seriously undervalued, but I have no ethical obligation to do that and I might choose to keep my mouth shut.
In this era of the Internet, there is no excuse for not doing your research before offering something for sale. All you gotta do is Google “Fender Precision Bass Active Korea” and you’ll instantly know it’s easily worth around $450. The seller either doesn’t care or is more interested in getting rid of the thing than in getting close to market value.
Anyway, in this case it’s water under the bridge and the OP behaved perfectly within the bounds of acceptable yard-sale buyer behavior as far as I am concerned.

I had a Squier series P for a short time. It was made in the Mexico plant, and badged Fender, but really not much better than the Squiers of the time. Though yours has a silver label, mine was a black label, so yours may be a nicer model of the line. Still, that’s the best deal I’ve heard of. HNBD!

Looks like it was an active bass once, I asked the seller but she didn’t know and was just getting rid of stuff that she couldn’t sell on eBay. So I plugged in the bass when I got home and it plays fine. No scratchy pots no funny business that I heard. Not a fan of the pickups though I’m sure it needs a setup but I’m definitely looking into getting better pickups for it. After all, it did only cost me $15
As far as looking into the year of the bass and all, it seems to be a 1993 Squier Fender Bass. Anyone care to extend some knowledge on this bass so I know what I’m working with for later upgrades?

It would be a crime *not* to buy that bass at that price per the bargain-hunter’s code of honor. You are redeeming what in all likelihood is a seriously neglected bass and giving it a good home.
