I truly didn't plan on getting this, but it has been an elusive holy grail bass for me and it was too good of a deal for me to resist. 1981 BC Rich Wave.

I don't know why I even said I was done buying basses, I should know better?! Anyways I had a maple neck/Mahogany wings, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, and abalone inlays. Perfectly balanced and light for my bad back. I'm in love!!
 
Oh yeah, it was also refinished by GMW guitars out here in L.A. Here's how it originally looked...

I find black boring anyways so I'm glad it was refinished. Though black is the color Tom Arya's from Slayer had his(the only famous person to play one of these).

If you look close you can see a lot of holes on the backside for moving the strap pins, though it balances just fine in the standard spots(not sure what's up with that?). This and the Mockingbird were the only BCR designed by bass players: JohnK designed the first Mock, and this by an employee who was a local bassist. Too bad you have to get a custom shop one of these nowadays
