NBD!

I wasn’t even aware of that model, so I’d say you were pretty lucky to find it locally.
Never seen or heard of these. Way cool. The shape of most Music Man guitars (other than the Majesty) doesn’t really do it for me personally, but I really like that shape in a bass! Enjoy, @N4860 :bassist:

Wow that's a lot of knobs and switches. What do they do?

Here's the sticker with the diagram of the controls:

Thanks! That's funny, I like most of their guitar designs except for the Majesty. The Majesty with the shield makes it look like a shovel to me lol.

That's a really good looking bass, congrats.

I'm confused about the design of the nut, though. Can someone explain it to me?

Here's what Music Man says about it:

"The new nut is called a Compensated Nut. We have a patent on this design.
The purpose of this new nut design is to improve note accuracy all over the fretboard. This is most apparent at the lower frets.

There is no special tuner, setup, or intonation required.

This nut is standard on all Music Man guitars and basses - even SUBs.

The Compensated Nut has been engineered to improve your Music Man instrument's potential to play perfectly in tune up an down the fretboard. Each string has an individual intonation pocket that slightly changes the effective string length, causing notes that traditionally play sharp to be more in tune.

The design has been optimized for standard string gauges and tunings, but will be of benefit when used with alternate tunings, string gauges, and playing styles."

I just picked this bass up a couple of days ago. It's been one I've on the lookout for and I found it locally surprisingly as I imagine there aren't a lot of these in Canada. It's a 35 Anniversary Music Man Reflex HSS bass. I've been very interested in trying one out because of the cool electronics. Each pickup has it's own on/off switch, as well as series/parallel for the bridge pick up. It has an active/passive switch with a 4 band eq and tone control (passive only).

So far I am really enjoying this as an addition to my collection. You can really get a huge range of tones with this. It does feel heavier than most of my other basses but it balances nice which was a surprise considering the body design. The headstock is much smaller than a normal MM headstock so that probably helps a lot.

I guess I can see that now. It's almost like a single, slightly fanned fret. If it works, then it works.

VERY NICE! Unique bass, tons of flexibility, similar electronics that the Big Al had but it had SSS pups. If you really love it, that is a keeper for sure. Enjoy that beautiful bass! Congrats on that snag.
