Okay, I had this 02 Squier pawn shop find as my main practice bass.

The local music store made me trade offer on this 92 MIM P bass that I couldn't refuse!!

A couple of minor teaks and I'm loving it!!! Nice step up IMHO. It makes a nice companion to my 92 MIM Jazz!!

To be honest, I'm not a fan of Squier or MIM but that is a very nice looking bass. I love the red with the tortoise shell pickguard and rosewood fretboard. Enjoy.

Really nice, that tort is the kind of tort I like, kind of a tight pattern and a bit dark. Red p-basses are awesome!

I realize that the tort pickguard probably isn't original.

When I was cleaning it up with the covers off, I noticed that the bridge had grooved saddles with flathead screw height adjusters. The rest of the bridge appears to be standard fender fare. My 92 MIM Jazz had smooth saddles (before the BAII).

Looking under the pickguard revealed cloth wiring, large pots and a .47 uF rectangular tone cap that was about 1" by .5".

Does anyone know if early MIMs came with this stuff?

I HATE tort guards, but for some reason it looks really good on that bass. I would put the PUP cover back on it and rock the unholy f*** outta that thing.

I agree. Maybe it's a matching red/red tort thing...

Anyway, the PUP cover was already missing when she came to me...
