I considered audere, Pope, glokenklang, noll, and nordy. Purposefully not Bartolini since my Brute has bart pups and pre. My search filter was 4 knobs, no switches... this probably eliminated the audere as their better option has a switch. I suppose I could have gotten creative with the switch... but still, price, features/specs, and sound (which is a much word of mouth as anything else, I won't know how it will be in this bass without hearing it first)... the nordy won.
Did you have to pay any extra shipping fees because it came from outside the US? What was the total shipping cost if I may ask?
Just got mine today. Fabulous bass for the price. I'd venture to say it's at the same craftsmanship level as my Fender Elite in the few minutes I've inspected it. HUGE PROBLEM: electronics are DEAD. I can't get any sound out of it. I switched 9v batteries and nothing. Push/Pull Volume know does nothing. I suspect this may be why it was B-Stock. Any clues what might be the problem? I don't know anything about the guts of a bass or electronics.

B-stock usually means there is a scratch or blemish--not that it's broken! So it doesn't work in either active or passive mode? When you say push pull does nothing, you mean it won't make a sound at all in either active or passive mode? It could be something as simple as a loose wire to re-solder to the input jack... if you're not familiar with wiring, email Thomann, they would probably replace it. In hope they would...
Ok, took it straight to my luthier. It was a tiny sticker covering the positive output! Lol. He did fix a loose grounding wire while he was in there, which was part of the problem so I am on my way home now to play it for the first time.

@And I is correct,B-stock are previously sold/returned items not faulty items. It's against EU consumer laws to sell faulty goods,Thomann sell QC fails in a separate section under "Decoration only/Unplayable."
Get an email off to Thomann ASAP,there's a procedure to go through so follow it.
Best mention this. If you try live chat be aware the CS advisor has a system they stick to ,if you start asking questions outwith the system don't be surprised if you get short shrift. Customer Service in Europe differs from the US,those folks will work to resolve your problem but won't waste time on small talk or placating your feelings.
Warranty and Returns apply to US customers the same way they do European ones. You will get emailed a prepaid shipping label. Don't skip the packing materials,box it back up.
Thanks for the reply. See my post above, as it was only a tiny "T" sticker, which I assume meant that it was tested, which was covering the positive output.
I retract my volume spike statement. It doesn't seem to be too bad. Ok. I've got to get used to this thing. Depends on where you've got all of the settings at.
My only complaint is neck dive. If you're on the fence about getting one of these, do it. It's completely worth it in my opinion.
No, tuners and knobs... but I guess they hold the whole order?
BTW, having never replaced any tuners before, how would I go about figuring out what replacement tuners would fit this thing? I have some Hipshot ultra-lites on my Lakland DJ 5 and love them.
They don't fit, I'm going to have to drill a new hole to screw them in. The posts should fit though... just the screw mounts won't. The hipshots have one screw, the stock tuners have 4.
