NCAA Basketball - 2011

Blah blah blah......

Now, now. FSU beat UF in football for the first time in years, and you're still talking about. UF beats FSU in baseball, and it doesn't matter since FSU has more career wins?

No being two faced in this crowd pal. :)

Suck it up and accept you lost to the Gators baseball team, that same Gator baseball team is #1 in the country, and the Gators mens basketball is a #2 seed that won once already. Man, that's gotta hurt you. Hahaha.

The Gators baseball program have been to 1 championship, and were completely irrelevant before the late 80s. On the other hand FSU football has won 2 championships and won their conference championship in the 40s, there is no comparison, FSU Football, Baseball and Womens Basketball are dynasties, UF is probably good at darts or something, but leaves the big boy (girl) games to us men at FSU. It is also still March so Baseball is pretty irrelevant, get back to me later. As an aside maybe you should start a thread Mike. And that 2 seed is such malarkey that in my bracket I curved it into a 3 where they belong. FSU also won today, so...yeah!

Also please know although I do respect the Gators, but I'm a homer for FSU and will never show this. Scalp em! :hyper:

:(

We are not underdogs. We are perennial giants in the basketball world.

But no seriously, FSU's defense has to step up if they want to get any further. Singleton is back so that should help, but we need nights like tonight where we get 10 blocks if we want to stay alive considering our offense is pretty average.

Notre Dame hasn't been much of a hoop school recently either but they are the real deal this year. You have to start someplace and sometime, maybe this is the beginning of FSU becoming a football-basketball school like Ohio State.

Dame is playing great ball this year. They're pretty reliable on the 3 though and FSU plays a good perimeter so we have a chance, albeit a small one. FSU basketball has never been good, but I love our coach and the mentality he has, and expect us to get better as time goes on.

I understand. Don't diss your Longhorn allegiance too.

Ahhh yes, the 40's. How could I forget? But UF still is #1 right now, and beat you yesterday. But you're right, the baseball deserves it's own thread and we already do have one. I believe anyonefortennis started it.

Don't get me started on the NCAA calling what transpired over the past two days the second round.

Bob Lee is in the early lead with 26 of 32 games correct including Marquette and Gonzaga out of the 11 hole. That is the 97.7 percentile nationwide - very impressive prognostication - Jonathan would be proud.

JP and Kramer not too far behind with 24 of 32 games
JP with Gonzaga and Richmond out of the 12
Kramer without any upset picks coming through but steady with the favorites. At the 79.9 percentile - that would be a solid B+.

Me and the rest are pulling up the rear with 23 out of 32; but at the 61st percentile, we squeek by with a gentleman's C and if things break the right way are still in it.

Louisville hurt a number of folks, but me and MJ took the biggest hits. I emailed a buddy of mine who graduated from Louisville to complain and he said "You should have called me, they have been very lucky all season and it was due to end this way." Arrrggh.

Thankfully, it appears that there are a lot of guitarists, drummers, and singers picking at the ESPN site this year. ;)

The Gators/UCLA game is way too tight for my taste--tied w/6:45 left. Grrr, this thuggish Nelson guy is getting the whistle every time.

Woot! Gators win a tough one. Boynton sprains his ankle and Walker puts on a one-man show in the last two minutes. Hoping for a quick recovery by Boynton...

I didn't see Carolina but Duke just escaped - Michigan had a runner in the lane to tie. UConn didn't pull away until late in the second last night. Kansas was even for a half with BU. That may be the theme this year. Even the 1-8 and 2-7 games are pretty even. I've already lost 2 out of the 8s and 1 of the Final Four (Pitt).

Wow, two 11 seeds going to the Sweet Sixteen! Honestly, Purdue should be embarrassed getting spanked like that. No one's going to want to play VCU now, though!

Wow, props to FSU for the upset. OTOH, Notre Dame gets upset big-time, so I'm still happy.:p

Now that the Sweet Sixteen is determined, I decided to review the makeup by conference.

The Big East, the super-deep, awesomest conference in basketball like, ever: 2 teams.
The terrible SEC: 2 teams.:D

As for the rest: ACC 3, Big Ten 2, Mountain West 2, Big 12 1, Pac 10 1, CAA 1, Atlantic 10 1, Horizon 1.

A diverse field, I like it.:)
