NCAA basketball!

Da 'Cuse is in the house, Oh My God, Oh My God!

I knew SU would win last night as soon as I heard Kornheiser say "Syracuse is DONE!"

Winning four games by a total of only EIGHT points? Holy Crap!

If March Madness was ever gonna give me coronary episode, it would have been yesterday!

I'd also like to go on record saying Gonzaga is a fraud.

-Hey brother BurningSkies, I can't BELIEVE your office doesn't have a TV for this. It goes to broadcast TV next week, do you need a loaner? ;)

And BTW, played the second gig with the Flite stack last night out in Rome. Bigfatbass is a happy boy!

Yeah, my department is pretty uptight! No TV, no radio...Next week will be OK though, I'll be able to see the games through the snow on my set! If I'd quit buyin' all these basses and such I might have $$$ for cable, But I have priorities, yanno?

Good to hear that the Flites are working out! I still wanna get over there and do a gear check with you...

Aww yeah! Kansas beat Texas. What a great game! :hyper:

I lived in Lawrence, KS for ten years before I moved back to NY in 2004. I played drumset in the KU basketball band for a few years and everyone I knew was way into the Jayhawks so it was a big part of my life for a long time.

I still try to watch every game but there aren't too many KU fans out here in Brooklyn, especially in my neighberhood (Bushwick)! The Back Page in Manhattan is the only place I know that shows nearly every KU game. Since we don't have cable here at the apartment, I usually just stream the radio and watch it unfold online at ESPN.com. It's not the most exciting way to experience basketball but it'll do I guess!

We'll see. I don't find them any more fraudulent than the Orangemen.

To be a fraud you have to be pretending you're something you're not. Nobody is talking about SU winning diddly, especially the local press, lol.

Gonzaga is supposed to be a big deal, but I don't think they have played any steady competition. Perpitratin' a fraud yo!

SU's RPI strength of schedule = 1

Gonzaga's = 101

I'll take SU's chances over the 'zags this year, thanks.

Well I don't think Gonzaga is pretending to be anything. But by virtue of their high ranking, it is safe to say that they have seen everyone's "A" game. Thrown in the fact that they have won the WCC six year's straight and realize that even more pressure is placed upon them.

They might be knocked out first round or they might be in the final four, but we'll see starting next week. Good luck to your Orangemen. That is until when and if they play Gonzaga. :D

My, my.....

LSU wins the SEC championship..... Florida wins the SEC tournament championship...... and champion-of-nothing Tennessee gets the highest seed of anyone in the conference?

This selection committee must have been drinking....

No joke. I thought for a second I was watching the women's bracket show when that Tennessee #2 popped up on the screen.

I'll take the #3 in that bracket though. The only teams that scare me are Villanova and Arizona. I don't like anything from Ohio State anyway, so I consider them overrated.

It may sound strange to call North Carolina an underdog but they are 3 seed that could take their bracket. It is a young team that is coming together nicely and will surprise some folks.

Otherwise I like to root for places I have connections to -
Boston College is a couple of miles from my house; Marquette - my father-in-law is a alumnus and has season tickets.
Arkansas - my brother-in-law lives there and we always catch a bunch of trout on the White River when we visit.
I like the way Syracuse plays.

wow, the first post in here since the tourney started...

anyway, anyone else hating cbs' coverage?

besides the bored-teen-flipping-through-the-channels style of alternating between games, i have another grievance: right after we saw florida trounce south alabamer, we wanted to see the end of the winthrop/tennessee game. but cbs friggin' switched to local news coverage at a quarter past.

and that game came down to a buzzer-beater, unless i'm mistaken; i had to read about it on yahoo.

as far as games go, florida actually had FEWER turnovers than our opponent! my friends and i (all but one UF students or alumni) thought that was funny.

ucla was really impressive. i have'em in my final four.

the BC game scared the poo out of me. double frickin' overtime.

my bro picked montana over nevada and is thus killing me in the facebook pool (which uses the lame "underdog scoring system").

syracuse was down last time i checked, which is frightening, since i have them going to the final four in both of my brackets.

i'm glad that my spring break is coinciding with the advent of the tournament!

they were nearly off the bubble until they won in the big east tournament. they didn't go from nothing to something overnight; they got lucky. they're certainly not final four.

i picked them to lose to A&M, who is underrated, and who is a good team.

i picked UWM to beat OU. why? because oklahoma sucks in the tournament. kelvin sampson is the anti-izzo. and he's from the jud heathcote tree, too.

the only games i've missed so far are alabama over marquette and montana over nevada. the good news is i had neither team winning the next game, so barring huge upsets, i'm safe.

those are the two that i missed, too.

so the syracuse game will really make the difference between our brackets.
