NCAA Football 2017 Week #13

I may be slightly biased since I'm an Oklahoma alum, but I don't think telling the fans to go back to rooting for basketball and the crotch grab/FU combo are as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be, especially when you consider the Kansas captains didn't go in for his handshake pre-game and told the kids on the field not to as well. Plus it's not like he's partying hard or doing copious amounts of drugs like Manziel did.

Also, Lincoln Riley said Mayfield isn't starting next week against WVU, but we'll see how many plays constitutes "not starting" - my guess is only a few.
Well, he sure partied hard that one night the cops had to tackle him.:D

I know Kansas did some classless things that spurred him on, but I agree with Mike that as a QB he doesn't have the leeway to respond like that.

The Apple Cup feels to me like a polite rivalry.
The fans, and some players, talk a little trash back and forth the week of the game.
All the rest of the year, they're best of buddies.
Whoever wins the game is quickly forgotten in the days following as everyone on the west side resumes their obsession with lattes and recycling while the east siders go back to herding cattle and getting ready for next springs crops.

But for this week, Pilgrim's mother was a hamster and his father smells of elderberries!

As a Trojans fan, I'm just glad to be able to watch everybody else duke it out for conference/playoff positions. I'm gonna kick back and enjoy a lot of great college football Saturday!:hyper::woot::thumbsup:

Lots of great games! My other half is an FSU grad in a family of Florida grads and we're spending Thanksgiving with them this year, so it should certainly make for an interesting weekend!

I'm particularly looking forward to the Apple Cup, ND at Stanford (I'm certainly not in the habit of saying this, but "GO STANFORD!!!"), and Alabama at Auburn.

It's so bizarre to look at ESPN's Top 25 scoreboard and not see the UF/FSU game listed there. As I said to my FSU grad colleague yesterday, "Ready for the pillow fight?" :atoz: I'll still feel a little better if my Gators can come out on top, but I'm not optimistic.

Totally.
Been a long time since we can say that. 20+ years I believe.

This has been an outstanding year for college football. Anybody can beat anybody on a given weekend. It's lots more fun this way.
Absolutely.

I've been around long enough to know not to say definitively that this is the wildest college football season I've ever seen, but I KNOW it's right up there.

USF-UCF was a fun game! I thought another undefeated might be going down, but UCF pulled it out with a late kickoff return for a touchdown.

Apparently Florida took Kelly out of the running for their HC gig, so it looks more and more like he's going to UCLA.

Florida is afraid to be left standing at the altar, so now they're chasing Frost who everyone knows is destined for the Nebraska job.
Nebraska has a new AD, the Huskers just finished with their worst record in 56 years, Riley is begging for his job in media. Yeah, he's a goner.
If all of these rumors are true, Florida is looking desperate now.
It should be the other way around with guys lining up to take the job, but instead we have this going on.
Take the UCLA job. The Bruins are second fiddle in Los Angeles to USC. In the end I'm hoping Kelly takes the UCLA job, but it should be the Gators telling Kelly 'thanks, but no thanks' instead of flapping out there in the wind waiting to hear back.
Disappointing to this Gator fan.
