Yeah, it's a little early, but the rankings are already out. So this coming week is fair game. The way the rankings shuffled is interesting. Notre Dame jumped and USC dove, as should be expected, but there were some odd movements, depending on which poll you look at.

Enough of that. Huskies get back to work at home against UCLA. That's probably not a trap game, but if they botch things like they did against ASU, it could be one step toward Mora keeping his job. That would be bad. I wouldn't be unhappy at all if ASU whupped on USC this week. It would make the UW loss to ASU look a little less awful.

Yale plays Columbia. Time to see if Columbia is all that after all. Ivy champion Columbia? I suppose it could happen. Dartmouth gets Harvard who don't seem so much of a juggernaut these days. This is one of the reasons the Ivies are great - no year is any indication of what might happen the following year.

Off to Cambridge Dartmouth goes for a showdown with a 3-3 Harvard team.
This would have been a perfect game to go to.

Florida is playing Georgia. That's going to get ugly for the Gators quick.

The FPI thing on ESPN gives UGA an 83% chance of winning. I'd say there's about an 85% chance of a blowout win by Georgia, and a 10% chance of a close UF victory. Just a 5% chance of a close Georgia win, IMO--if it's close late, Georgia starts getting nervous, because of the history (both long-term and very recent) of the Gators pulling these games out even when they're inferior.

I'm going to be busy that weekend, so I'm just going to DVR the game in case something crazy happens.

The Cougs play Airyzona this week, and are currently favored by 5. That's not a lot, but I'll settle for a W by 1 point.

If the defense that stiffed Colorado 28-0 last weekend shows up, I think Wazzu wins that one by more than 5.

UCLA is showing signs of life; the huskeez better watch it. Sure would be a shame if they got upset. Yessir, should would be a shame.....sure would....

Watch what the Arizona quarterback does. Wazzu will have their hands full. The desert is full of poisonous things.

The Huskies got their stinker out of the way. I don't know that they are going to have too much of a problem with UCLA, since most of UCLA is injured. Washington has some key injuries in bad places (left tackle and both corners), but they are pretty deep most of the way across. I guess we will all find out, won't we. I expect two teams with one loss in the Apple Cup, playing for the chance to play ASU for the Pac 12 championship.

Big Blue is desperate for big play ability but the inexperience of the WR corps and the O line woes with opening holes for the run game ( and lets not get started on the sacks that seem to happen far too frequently . . . ) seriously hamper any thought of that. If Mich endures another loss I'd look for them to put the Red shirt in and get him much needed experience.

I read where some "experts" thought the D fell apart from start to finish. They let a couple big plays happen early and was playing catch up but the reality is they were only trailing by 8 even after the big plays at the half. Leave the D on the field too long, facing a very potent offense and this was a predictable outcome.

Rutgers is next. Who wants to avoid three losses more? Do the young' uns have it in them to forget the blow out loss? We'll see. I think, yes.

Harbaugh seems to have Rutgers number and even though Rutgers has been playing plucky, hang in there football, I think they lose by a couple TD's.

Mich 38
Rutgers 24

2022 at the earliest.
If the two sides get sick of each other and an NFL team comes knocking, a combo of UM, Harbaugh, and the NFL team could divvy up that guaranteed $$ and get him outta there before 2022.
Not that I think that's happening this year--that'd be a crazy amount to pay off, and I don't think UM is going to collapse this year or anything.

I agree. I think this year and next yer are absolutely safe. After that though, alumni and boosters can bring a lot of pressure to bear. We'll see. I think in the long haul it will work out ok as long as the Harbaugh shtick doesn't wear too thin.

OK, not at Michigan, but it's what he does.
