NCAA Football 2017 Week #9

They are giving the buckeyes all they can handle right now.
Looks like we counted that one just a little too soon. Wisconsin is looking pretty good in the Big 10 now. If they can keep it going and keep right on doing enough, then they will be the Big 10 representative. That would be a change from the usual Ohio State/Alabama/Clemson. The fourth one has been different every year. Maybe this year we get Georgia/Wisconsin/Notre Dame/somebody or another. TCU went down. I doubt there will be a Pac-12 team in the championship this year.

Washington looked like the old Big 10, a zillion miles rushing, about three feet passing. Neither touted quarterback looked very good in that one, but the score came out OK.

Tough loss for Penn State. The game was theirs to win, but they let it slip away. Major props to OSU for the comeback.

Aside from the opening kickoff return for a TD, and a 30-some yard touchdown run, OSU held Barkley in check all day. McSorley had some good plays with his legs, but missed way too many open receivers with off-target passes. But IMO, the biggest factor in Penn State's loss was the poor play of the O-line. They were pretty much dominated by OSU's front 7. A killer one-point loss that will hurt them for a long time...

Things are getting interesting in Florida. The AD had to come out and say there are no talks about a buyout of McElwain going on, which we know means there really are.

Yep, no doubt he's on the way out. A week ago, I was ok with giving him one more year. Now, let's just clear the decks and try again.*sigh*

Dear Lord, what happened to the Cougars?
I don't know. It wouldn't surprise me to see a two loss Pac 12 champion this year. I don't see how a Pac 12 team gets into the championship playoff unless something really odd happens. I'm beginning to think Arizona may be headed for the Pac 12 championship, since nobody seems to be able to stop Khalil Tate. If you stop him from running, he throws it over you. If you stop the pass, he runs right past you. Or somebody else does. I wonder how long that can keep up without a defense figuring it out.

If Florida was any good, maybe.

...if App State was any good, maybe...
...if Notre Dame was any good At Home, maybe...
...if the Vols had any pride, At Home, maybe...
...is Mizzu hadn’t scored more than any other team that’s faced them this year...in a 53-28 face off, maybe...

SC, Auburn, UK... where, just like SU, we don’t usually have the opportunity to walk around; chests puffed out and talking trash...until February... ;)
and then Tech!

Get back to me come 11/11!

Folks down here are excited...anxious to believe.

As well they should. That's great that y'all are undefeated and representing the SEC well.
I just don't think a resounding win over a lame Florida team will be enough to propel Georgia into #1.
That's a shame for me to have to say that about the Gators.

I think Bama has to be #1 as long as they're undefeated. And if it's #1 vs. #2 in the SEC championship/Bubba Bowl, cool.
