NCAA Football 2017 Week #9

Yeah, Mike Golic was bemoaning the fact that Game Day will be at Ohio State instead of Notre Dame. I'm a Penn State grad, and glad to see them pulling themselves back up out of the ashes.

But I think their streak runs out Saturday in Columbus. Urban Meyer will have them fired up after losing to Penn State last year. (Sure hope I'm wrong though!) :D

But boy, I love Saquon Barkley. Great talent; great work ethic; and by all accounts, a genuinely nice, humble person. Out-lifts the linemen in the weight room. Squatted 495 lbs. 7 times. Any NFL team will be glad to have him.

As a Buckeye I am really impressed with Barkley. Seems to be an all around great person. Great teammate. I would say without Barkley in the locker room, PSU doesn't have the swagger they have now.

Good luck on Sat, hope it's a good, clean, hard fought game.

Is there a Friday night game this week? I don't keep up with that kind of thing, and it's a lousy idea to have college football on high school football time anyway.

Thursday night is even worse. Weird things happen when the schedule gets disrupted - Stanford just barely got by Oregon State? I doubt it would have been like that on a Saturday.

Florida State is at Boston College.
Tulane visits #24 Memphis
Tulsa heads over to Dallas to take on the Pony Express. Ok I just dated myself.

Georgia really had a chance to make a statement today had they held Florida scoreless and ended the nations longest scoring streak at 367 games.

Sigh...woulda been nice to see a couple new teams in the playoffs, but it looks like more of the same this year.

Iowa State beats two top five teams in the same calendar month. Impressive.
