NCAA Football 2022

Sean Clifford is coming back for his sixth (!) year as Penn State's QB. This will do nothing good for him or the team. He is not NFL material and PSU needs to develop its younger guys. Another season of mediocrity ahead. :(

I miss those Pac-10 days. I'd sure love to have them back.
Sitting in the end zone bleachers with the wind from the lake whipping at your back and rain drops pelting your face while eating a hot dog and drinking hot cocoa as the Huskies cruise to another big win.
OK, maybe at this point in my life that is better experienced on my couch with a sweater and slippers on, but still I miss the winning. :D

Do y'all have access to Origin Sports?
They replay some classic games from over the years. Tonight I watched Matthew Stafford vs. Kentucky. Earlier it was Julius Peppers vs. Duke, and Drew Brees vs. Washington (2001 Rose Bowl).
It is really fun rewatching these old games. It's the full on game broadcast, so another bonus is being able to hear the likes of Keith Jackson calling games again.
This one was fun to watch too:

Danny Lewis Commits to Alabama over LSU After Posting Viral TikTok with Brian Kelly

It's bad enough that Brian Kelly is trying desperately - and very embarrassingly - to seem hip and cool in the TikTok video; what's worse is that Danny Lewis ended up committing to Alabama!:laugh:

P.S. According to the article, "he (Danny Lewis) is a 3-star prospect and the No. 31 overall tight end in the 2022 recruiting class..." So Kelly did this with a guy who's not even a 5-star recruit?!:roflmao:

Hot damn!!

The PAC-12 is waking up and moving out of San Francisco. That's nearly $8 million a year that isn't spent to stroke Larry Scott's ego!! Much of that money now can go to the conference schools; looks like $500K to $750K per school.

Pac-12 to dissolve San Francisco HQ, go remote & save millions in rent

It has never been necessary to spend millions a year on a stupid-expensive lease in down town San Fran. Well done to the PAC-12!

They will still need a production facility, but I'd guess they will look at places like Las Vegas where they can buy or lease a large warehouse-style building with room for the TV trucks, production gear and technical facilities, and some studios and offices. They'd be welcome in Denver where there are still large warehouse facilities available, and the travel pattern would be easy.

I'm not on board, either.

I remember when the NFC dominated the AFC year after year in the Super Bowl. There were many voices suggesting the NFC title game was the "real" Super Bowl, and that the best two teams, regardless of conference, should play for the NFL title. I wasn't on board with that, either.

I think the Pac-12 should just let the divisions stand, and let the seasons play out however they play out.

Some folks don't like Saban, and some folks may think this is just him crying about losing some recruits or having to try harder now that the playing field can be leveled to some degree with the cash payouts, but I totally agree that this NIL mumbo jumbo is going to ruin college sports.
Saban: NIL application 'completely out of control'.
Some of us thought parents were bad for getting overly involved in recruiting but now we have billionaires, millionaires, and attorneys involved along with recruiting agencies. Bad news man.
Let's be real. Why else did the #1 college football recruit choose Jackson State over Florida State? Because of Deion Sanders? Jackson State's national TV exposure?

All kinds of weird things are going to happen over the next decade. Kids will go to college to make some money, cash in, and get out. If they are smart and play it right. If you already made several million by the time you are 22, why risk a permanent injury if you don't have to?
