NCD - And now presenting his highness, Henry the 8x8!

It's rare that I ever seek out gear that I have owned in the past but this is one example worthy of owning again (also the GK 800RB) - just picked it up today, thus cause for celebration!

When I picked it up I discovered that the four middle drivers were not working so I suspected a wiring issue (and I was correct). After getting it home I removed each driver and inspected the wiring and many of them weren't connected to the harnesses!

All have been corrected and secured so they won't come loose again, and the cab sounds fantastic. Even the piezo works! Now I have to wait for an opportunity to use it. :sour:

Anyway, I'm elated to own another - back to your regularly scheduled program. ;)

Congrats. I paired mine with a 800RB. That is a good match. Dunno about the PV though. Careful with those drivers! Rare as Hen's teeth.
So the previous one I had I used with an 800rb but sold it to a local yokel. He has since added a Goliath Jr. to it, running off the 100 watt section. He said I have first dibs on that rig when he retires it, then I'll have two. Buhahaha!

Bah, the juxtaposition of the Peavey and the little big cab makes this photograph!

But if you ever decide you're too cool for that head, I'm not bwahaha! Hit me up.

Congratulations on the classic cab.

Lol - thanks! The head is awesome, does some really neat things but is just too big to use as a backup. And it doesn't make sense to use it in my main rig for the metal band I'm in as I can't utilize all its effects. Sure would be great in an indie band, or an upgrade for DFA 1979's Jesse Keeler (is he on TB?)

I once saw a reggae band whose bass player played through a Henry the 8x8 and was amazed by how much bottom end that cabinet had. Nice score.

I had the opportunity to test that head with the matching 1 x 18 folded horn cabinets in the 70's, I believe. Cracked the store's front window. I was too young and my old man wouldn't get it for me but it was so cool pushing that amp at the store. Anyone remember graciin's music Freeport NY?

I gigged a Henry as my only cab for a long time (it was hilariously oversized for some small gigs), and sometimes I still hear that smooth creamy round low end in my head. Love it.

I'm not one of those "high-pass everything" guys, but Henry can run out of gas/be hard to hear on a loud stage, and my guess is that it would really benefit from a HPF.
