i lusted after one of those for years when i first started playing. i bought a new TNT130 black widow combo in '83 but wanted a mark IV with a 215BW so bad! great score, enjoy!!!!

NCD Peavey 215

My back pages . . . .
My first big rig, just like a lot of guys in the late 70's, early 80's, the mid-point of Peavey's heyday. Had all the tone of a box of Kellog's Corn Flakes, buy my goodness these would take a lickin' and keep on clickin'. Fancy 6-band sorta parametric and built in FUZZ ! ! !
When I owned one of these, for a while I had a VW Beetle convertible. Ran off with that night's 'wife for a night' and the next morning I get a phone call I BETTER get my amp outa there, the new band was gonna be there in a few hours (obviously, more pressing matters had prevented me from taking care of music business the night before and moved out everything with the rest of the band . . . . ). Can't reach anybody. Day-umm. So I book it over there in the Bug convertible thinking what am I going to do . . . . when suddenly inspiration hit. I had the top down already . . . . so I roll that big cabinet out to the car, get it stood up on the back bumper, and flip it into the back seat, the head in the passenger floorboard, and got it home.
That was a close one . . . . .

Look up the 3620 cab. 2x18’s & 2x10’s. You definitely won’t be “picking” one of those up!
I quit using my 215D when I got a Hartke 410XL. The Peavey cabinet sat in the corner of my folks living room until my dad got his first home theatre sound system and used the 215 for his woofer. The first movie I watched with them after he hooked it up was the Fugitive remake with Harrison Ford. The train wreck scene shook the whole room.
I had the two 15 cab just like the one the OP scored and it was great. Later got the 1820 cab and it was awesome. Ended up ditching both cabs for an Ampeg 810 though. Something about eight 10s just did it for me. That was then, this is now. Today a two 10 cabinet works for me in most cases.
The Spanish Fellowship at a church I played at 25 years ago kept one in the backline. I used it a few times as mono and stereo with my 2 amps on the other side of the stage. It had no problem keeping up with a couple of 100 watt half stacks.

I had two for a while, Peavey 1820.
This 2x15 Peavey or a Sunn 200S bottom were favorites of mine as well
Genuinely not that heavy can lift no issues, and with the 4 castors on the bottom it’s easy, worth the pain for the sounds aswellVery nice, indeed. Did it come with a roadie, to haul it ?

Ive had my rig since mid 80's..bought brand new..MKIV head and 1820 cab (1 x 18" Black Widow, 2 x 10" Scorpions)..still use it occasionally for larger gigs instead of my Fender combo. Cab weighs 122 lbs and hard to find the drummer to help lift it when needed lol
