Yeah, pretty simple, and the beauty of all-EMG, is that both pickups and preamps are interchangeable without any soldering.

Delivered a full day early by FedEx, and 2 earlier than expected as I thought the case was arriving today, and the bass on Tuesday.

Happily, it'll be the other way around.

A lot of firsts in this unboxing:
First instrument purchase from Sweetwater; impressive service.
First neck-thru bass.
First 35" scale.
First active preamp.
First five-string I've ever even held in my hands; we lefties often must make leaps of purchasing faith.
First Schecter, and I'm totally impressed with the build quality:

• Silky smooth all over
• Excellent woodwork and lovely grain patterns
• Fretwork perfect
• Controls utterly silent on rotation; nice smooth movement and clean detents.
• Hardware finish is a joy to touch
• Balance on the strap pin is right on
• Strongly resonant and all the sustain I could ever want.

I've got a lot to learn about handling 5 strings, and I may swap it over to flats (the pre-installed Ernie Ball rounds are bright!) But on first blush this is a really well-made instrument.
