Neck binding: yeah or nay?

So, given that's WOOD binding, is it a vote "for" or "against"?

It all depends on the bass and type of binding. That was basically the point I was trying to make, by showing how binding can look great when you wouldn't expect it to, in this case on a modern boutique bass with natural wood finish (Marleaux Consat).
Matching that finish by using wood binding is of course the trick here, so again: it depends on the bass and how the binding is adapted to it. For example on a painted bass, I think I would mostly prefer solid binding over wood binding.
But since it's mostly cosmetic, it's just a matter of opinion...

I don't own any with binding, and wouldn't pay extra, but I do like the blocks and binding look on a jazz
