Neck swap on MIA Jazz

I may be opening up a can of worms here, but what the hell. I have a 2008 MIA Fender Jazz that I rarely play because I much prefer the necks on my MIA & MIM P-Basses. I'm wanting to have one tuned to Eb and since I use both of the P's live, I am considering either selling the Jazz and finding another Precision or swapping the neck on the Jazz with a MIA P neck from one of the online "chop shops".

I would be keeping the original neck, so I could put it back on if I ever decided to sell it at a later time. The tuners would be the same, so I wouldn't need to buy another set.

My opinion is that the Jazz would sound a bit "crisper" than the P tuned down 1/2 step, but is that going to really make that much of a differnce? I LOVE my Precisions, so having another one is very appealing as well, but I keep thinking I might be missing something by selling the Jazz(did I mention it was the first "brand-new" instrument I've ever had?).:help:
