Neck Swap

Greetings,
I have an early 90's Fender MIM P Bass with rosewood fingerboard.
I've always liked the look of maple and was given a MIJ maple neck.
Anyone have experience swapping these two?
I know I'd like the look but wondering if it might change playability and / or sound?
Thoughts?

If it is an exact fit and the screw holes match, just try it. If you’re not a gifted woodworker and it doesn’t fit without force, don’t try it, ask an expert.

It should fit fine. If you don't like it you can always swap it back.
