Need a board and a power supply

The pedals I have:
Planet Waves tuner (CT-04) - might swap it for another tuner.
Diamond bass compressor
DIY fuzz in a 1590B
EHX Nano Bassballs

Have never owned a pedalboard, so give me some suggestions on choosing a pedalboard and a PSU

Solid advice. For 4-5 pedals, Pedaltrain Mini should be perfect. A One Spot should work fine for that number of pedals. If you really needed a power source, a T Rex Fuel Tank Junior would fit on the Mini.

DIY board out of an old skateboard or go the Ikea route and build yourself a Gorm board (there's threads on TB about it).

The money you save on the DIY board can be put towards a better power supply.

For example, you might want some extra headroom for the Diamond Bass Comp (18v instead of 9v). Diago Powerstation or GigRig's Generator are scalable (in case your pedal collection grows to include odd power requirements) or check out the Cioks power supplies.

DIY for me ... I started with the case - find one which is a size you want - and then added a DIY board (in my case a two tier board) built from some particle board, black spray paint and strips of velcro. Ideally the case should have a detachable lid, I replaced the hinges on my case and turned it upside down so the thinner lid can be the bottom and the board can stay in the case also when in use. If not, you can always lift the board out of the case to use it, I believe you need to do that with a PedalTrain.

For power I'd start with a 1Spot adapter, it goes a long way and costs little.

You'll need to prob get a decent power supply, not just a One Spot. I believe that Diamond comp runs at 18v correct?
I just got a Joyo Power Supply 2 for about $65 on amazon, does EVERYTHING. Has 7 regular 9v lines (for most pedals out there like Boss), one 9v lines that has 500ma (for many vintage pedals like my EH grail), one 12v line (which I'm not using currently but some pedals/multis def need it) and one 18v line (which I'm currently running my od with, you'd use this line for your Diamond. Many eq pedals also run at 18v)
It's not as hi tech as a Voodo, but it's very small, affordable, and has all the options I need. Dead quiet! No problem with it at all. It also came with a couple polarity-reversal adaptors (you'll need one eventually trust me)

Power is an awful black hole lol!

Problem with the brick is they aren't isolated better off with a fueltank jr or voodoo labs iso5 for about 10-15 bucks more

So, gonna order the stuff in a couple of days. Pedaltrain mini for the board, so that's taken care of. Choosing a power supply seems to be a bit more difficult though.
The Diamond Compressor wants 18V DC, so that rules out a One Spot. I could ofcourse use a one spot and the Diamond power supply, but I would like to make this solution as plug and play as possible.

Those are essentially a one spot that takes up more space.

PedalTrain and OneSpot will be fine. Get a Voodoo Labs power supply if you have the extra $130. I use two OneSpots to power my 14 pedals, never saw the need for a big power supply...especially since I would need at least two of them.

18V complicates things, apart from dual power supplies or a multi-voltage supply, you could also use something like the iso-pump from Godlyke to bump up the voltage from 9V to 18V for that one pedal.

Yep, this solves any 18v situations with a OneSpot. I use one to power 3 pedals with 18v from my OneSpot.

A T-rex board with a fuel tank chameleon poped up on the used market so I went ahead and grabbed it. Only problem now is getting some patch cables and making a cable to reverse the polarity for the Diamond.

+1 on pedaltrain. Just bought a pro and really like it. Nice and simple. Velcro that comes with it works great with pedals that don't have any foam or anything on the bottom, but really sucks for pedals that do (timefactor, hardwire cm-2, ebs multicomp come to mind, can't get them to stay)

Most of the time the foam or rubber under pedals comes off easily and cleanly, particularly if you use a flathead screwdriver or something similar for leverage. You can always save it to stick back on or give to buyers if you re-sell.

I've had to do that several times and it's always worked fine.
