Ok I'm following your advices CLPeavey, I just might take a super15 and a small amp. It should give me enought loudness with 200/300Watts and i'll upragde the amp later.
Does a GK400RB-III do the trick ? I would love an in-built compressor and/or switchable disto thought
But speaking of inputs, I'm afraid of incompatibility, since i presume barefaced cabs use speakon cables and smaller amps use jacks. I am wrong ?
The 400RB will get pretty damn loud with the super 15. I would bet a dollar that the Barefaced cabs all come with Speakon jacks. Your amp has a a 1/4" jack. What I suggest you do is buy a Speakon end. Take an existing speaker (not instrument) cable and chop one end off. You can put a speakon end on with just a screw driver. Should only take a few minutes to strip the wires and get it all rigged up. You will be able to get a lot of the "GK grind" out of that rig.
If you want something else tonally, then other amps may be a better option. That said I dont think any bass player couldnt get a usable tone out of that combo.
