I would choose a P-Bass.
When I imagined playing punk music, the following instrument came immediately to my mind. This one built by Bas-Extravaganza looks like it fits the role very well. You could probably do something similar (maybe not this extreme) if you found a used P-Bass relatively cheap and give it some character. My favorite part is the chain used as a strap (but I bet it digs into your shoulders holding it for a 2hr set.)
