Need advice for pup, etc.

I picked up a Fender Aerodyne Precision recently. I love the bass but the J pick up hiss far too much. I'm looking to replace both the P and J pick up. I play mostly death metal and need some advice on which route to go. Also, is there anything else to replace that will help reduce hissing?

Is there anywhere I can go to have this shielding done? I'm not an expert at this stuff and if I try to do it myself I will do more harm than good.

doing the shielding yourself isn't that hard...

alternatively you could shell out some money for a split coil jazz pickup (like a dimarzio ultra jazz), those reduce the hum too.
