Hi everyone, long time listener, first time caller... So, I decided to put together a rig for our practice space. It is a large garage. I am trying to keep it on a budget. But still keep up with a pretty loud drummer. And if the guitar players can get off their little modeling amps, there are a couple of Marshall half stacks. I have been bringing my Genz-Benz contour 2x10 combo, which has worked pretty good so far.

I originally was planning on getting a used 2x12, then getting a tone hammer 500. Then a deal on the bay reared it's ugly head, and a Aguilar sb412 is on it's way. Really not what I was looking for weight wise, but since it is going to be staying there, it should work out. And sometimes you just can't pass something up. I mean a really disgusting deal. And I don't know how, but they seemed to get it shipped for $25? Halfway across the country.
So know I'm thinking of powering it. Would the TH500 power it for some loud Rock? What about a power amp that has low sensitivity with the TH pedal? I could probably do that for a lot less than the TH500 with power to match the cabinet. I am also a fan of the GK heads, and they seem to go pretty cheap used, like the 700rb2 or like the 1001rb2 . I just sold one a while back and really liked how it worked, the neo cabinet wasn't that great other than the weight.
I am currently using a Pbass and a stingray with a Zoom B3(really don't use it very much). Thanks again. Ed

Decided to go with a power amp pedal setup. GC had a Memorial Day sale on the Crown xls1000, 1100 watts at 4 ohms, which the cab is 1200@4ohms. I have spent some more quality time with the zoom B3, read about a hundred pages of talk bass on it.... And have about five decent patches going. Set the high pass to 70hz on the Crown. A real window shaker, the dogs not impressed!
