Need an 18" 8 ohm speaker

Instead of getting rid of my well-ported, 4-ohm Carvin 1x18, I'm gonna try to keep it. Thing is, I need it at 8 ohms so I can add another cabinet, an Avatar 2x10. It'd be nice to have something with a neodymium magnet in it so it's not too heavy, but the 18" 8 ohm market is pretty slim as it is. The only one I've been able to find that I would be confident with is Invalid Link Removed. I'd need to get the exact measurements on the enclosure I have now, but that one looks like the only solution.

I guess my question is, are there any other solutions? Is there some way to get the existing speaker up to 8 ohms? Are there other reliable 18" 8 ohm speakers out there that I can buy that aren't in a cab already? I mean, the Eminence mentioned above is like $300, so if there's another way to do it that's a little below that price point I'm all ears!

Edit: has anyone dealt with www.usspeaker.com? Their website is gaudy as hell, but they've got some decent deals.[/QUOTE]

Yeah, I've bought quite a few things from them. I built a pair of subs last year and bought all the parts and speakers from them. Prices are good, shipping is reasonable and quick, good support staff.

I have the same cab--RL118, and have thought about doing the same thing. Let me know what you decide to go with and how it works for you.

Will do. I think I'm gonna go with the Carvin's 8-ohm for now and if that doesn't work, I'll find something else.
It's on the website..................
