need djent bass tone.

soooooooo im trying to get bass tone for djent like messuggah, volumes,hackivist,periphery. i have an ibanez srff805 and spector legend 5 neck thru and a ibanez btb405. my current head is a gallien kurger goldline and a 412 peavy cab. i also have an eleven rack but i have it on my tech death stuff and its broken so i have trouble doing most thing on them.

I didn't know there was a discernible "tone" in djent-style bass. Seriously, I don't even know why there are bassists in these bands with 8 string drop-drop-drop tuned riff-based stuff. You have to go out of your way to tell they exist to begin with. Tone? Optional. Distortion? Mandatory.

I wouldn't recommend a Fuzz since the notes have to be tight and articulated. Furthermore you have to focus on your EQ. Dial out he Bass and get some Low-Mids and High-Mids in. Makes your sound throatier and more aggressive
