need help picking a new bass

ok, im gona go to to some shops, hopefully buy a nice bass, when i get my camera ill post it

Don't bring your cash, check, debit/credit/ any other form of money until you've tried a handful of different styles of basses, and felt one that really stands out to you, IME when i've bought gear before really trying everything out it leads to buyer's remorse, eventually leading to new GAS

Look for a used Lakland 55-02 or 44-02....VERY versatile basses and well worth the money!

the quality and customer service are some of the best in the business!

If you like a particular type of bass (i.e. Jazz Style or P style) I can give you some ideas as well....

I agree with the amp. Find a used eden, swr, genzbenz, or anything else that floats your boat, combo and buy an okay used bass. I played a warwick with a cheap nemesis combo, and then when I got my swr...WOW. Big difference, sounded soo much better.

Just my .02

If you like EBMM products then the Ibanez ATK is a good choice, with the caveat that it feels good in your hands, since it sounds like an even punchier Stingray.

I am personally a big Yamaha and G&L fan and highly recommend entry level Yamaha's and G&L Tributes which are very versatile and well made but you need to find out what feels good to you which may or may not feel good to anyone else on this board.

i was thinking of a Ibanez ATK300?

Have you played one? Do you like how it feels and sounds?

Don't be one of those guys who sees a cool picture on line and pulls out his credit card... You REALLY need to feel and hear a musical instrument to see if you'll like it. You may tell me that you aren't experienced enough to know the difference - well then, bring a buddy who DOES know - or a music teacher. If you're a newer player, then you are taking lessons (right?!?!), so if you offer your teacher a free lunch, I'll bet he'll come to a store and help you find what you need. Do NOT Trust a sales man - the reasons should be obvious... But don't be that guy who just gets on the MF web site and throws down based on a cool picture!
